TURMERIC PASTE FOR GOLDEN MILK

I’ve known about the health benefits of turmeric for a while now but I’ve never actually tried to add it into my diet. I decided it was time so I started adding turmeric powder to my stews. It was not bad, especially when combined with curry. The thing is, I wanted to have it daily or at least a few times a week. I don’t have stews that often so I had to think about something else. Enters golden milk!
Golden milk — also known as turmeric milk — is an Indian drink that is made by warming up plant-based milk and adding turmeric and other spices. The milk will turn into a bright yellow/golden color hence the name golden milk. Adding turmeric into your diet has many healthy benefits such as:
I’ve tried a few pre-made brands but to be honest the taste was just disgusting. My last attempt was making it myself, and believe me it is the most delicious drink ever. You can drink it warm or cold but I prefer a warm cup of golden milk before bed. It relaxes me and calms my mind. Luckily it’s very easy to make. I used fresh turmeric because they are in season now. You could also use powdered turmeric but I’d highly recommend using it fresh. I bought mine here
The paste is actually very easy to make. Just peel the turmeric and ginger, add them to a blender with all other ingredients, blend till smooth, simmer for 10 minutes and let it cool down. To make golden milk just add 1 to 2 teaspoons to warm plant based milk, stir and enjoy
